Sat on the high ground of a 125-acre hunting estate, this respectable Federal style home was aging and in need of renovation.  The original 15,000 square foot main house was fully redesigned and renovated while 12,000 square feet was added.  The contrast of baroque and vernacular detailing creates an architectural narrative spanning hundreds of years.  What now looks like the oldest piece to the property is actually the newest.  The grounds were completely re-imagined in collaboration with Barbara Paca.  Now reminiscent of the English country side of Surrey the rolling hills and contrasting clipped formal gardens create a proper setting to the home.  The nine outbuildings were also renovated in addition to a new pool house, tennis pavilion and gate house were added.  completed, 2008
